Wish it would have gone deeper in to her family life, ect. The sound quality was so unreasonably poor I did however, rent it because I was hoping for some real insight into her background and human experience.
Well, with so little sound, that really didn't work out I must have watched it ten times before the rental ran out. Thank you, Grace, for letting us into your life and for sharing your amazing talent.
Awesome that Grace Jones showed where she comes from. The music is incredible. Been a fan since the 80s. This is a bit slow in parts, and it doesn't encapsulate much of her career, or life.
It focuses on the recording of a recent album. I wasn't that familiar with Grace Jones, and I still feel as though I don't know much about her life, thus far.
But I will say, as a bassist, that the basslines in her songs are fantastic. Great musicianship, overall. Not to keen on her lyrics, but I do appreciate the uniqueness of them.
Very revealing look into the very private Grace jones life. She came from humble beginnings to super stardom. And she looks awesome at 70 years old young.

We see the iconic Grace performing her hits in concert around the world, and a more intimate look into her life in her homeland of Jamaica with her mother and family.
Grace is everything you imagine her to be, still hedonistic in her sixties, avant-garde, talented, beautiful in her own unique way, but also slightly terrifying.
It's recorded over a four-year time period and is an interesting documentary, but one I think for true Grace Jones fans.
I was really excited about this so when I got around to watching it it was quite the let down I thought. The effort was there but it just lacked cohesion and narrative to pull you in and instead just became a succession of random clips that left you bored and slightly frustrated.
Wish the rest had been just as exciting. Read the memoir instead.

I tried three different times to finish it! Number 1: You must be a fan of Grace Jones. Number 2: You must be of a certain age to really enjoy this documentary.
Number 3: If you are both of the above, this is a must-have. I have already watched this three times. I love it that much. I love Grace Jones.
