Meanwhile, Zelda holds a wizarding competition and Ganon uses it as a plan to sneak into the castle and steal the Triforce. After he is discovered, Link and Zelda set aside their differences in order to stop him from escaping.
It is spring cleaning in Hyrule and Link has to pitch in, but he quickly fakes a cold in order to get sympathy, which works on Sprite.
While at the market, Ganon secretly augments her powers to cause chaos at the castle in a very Fantasia -like manner, allowing him to steal the Triforce.
Link and Zelda face off against an ambush of Tinsuits and an Octorock when Prince Facade, a prince from a neighboring kingdom called Arcadia, arrives and sweeps Zelda off her feet.
Dejected by this "Prince Charming", Link quits his duties and prepares to leave, but Ganon knows Facade's one weakness and plans to exploit it in order to kidnap Zelda.
Zelda happens upon a damsel in distress, who insists on a handsome hero to rescue her from a Gleeok. When Link arrives and saves her, she rewards him with a passionate kiss, but she turns out to be a Gibdo in disguise who curses Link into a humanoid frog.
Unable to be a hero in this form, Link takes the Triforce of Wisdom's advice and seeks help from the "Witch of Walls" for an answer after Zelda is kidnapped by Ganon.
Link's plans to romantically deliver flowers to Zelda are dashed when Ganon appears, attacking on the back of a unicorn.
He kidnaps the king and they go to rescue him, meeting Sing, a woman from whom the unicorn had been stolen. Together they must face Ganon's traps, and rescue both the unicorn and the king from Ganon's capture.
After a romantic picnic is ruined by Ganon, Zelda resolves to lay an assault on his lair, but as soon as they leave, the castle, along with the king and Sprite are pulled underground by a giant magnet and they need instead to rescue their friends before Ganon finds them.
Zelda receives a magic mirror, which suddenly creates an evil double of her. With the real Zelda kidnapped, the fake is tasked to trick Link into taking the Triforce of Wisdom into the underworld, where it will be easy for Ganon to capture.
Link's sleepwalking is put to a stop before he can sneak into Zelda's bedroom chamber, but with the tower the Triforce is in is unguarded.
A trio of Vires use a bomb to shatter the Triforce into three pieces to carry. They obtain one piece, and Zelda uses it in order to seek clues where the other two have been dropped, they venture into the Underworld to reunite the Triforce again.
Sleazenose, a traveling merchant, is rescued by Link who stops bandits from robbing him, and in gratitude, he gives Link a beautiful bejeweled sword in exchange for his current one.
Using it in battle, Link realizes the sword is a fake and he and Zelda are kidnapped. They find they need to work together with Sleazenose to outwit Ganon once again.
Not believing a story Link told her of Moblins attacking the castle when she found him unconscious and "sleeping" when he is supposed to be doing chores, Link has the house maintenance man make fake Moblins to attack her.
She overhears the plan and does not react when the real Moblins come to kidnap her. Ganon puts a collar on her to force her to do his bidding; including marry him.

While Majora's Mask retained the graphical style of the landmark Ocarina of Time , it was also a departure, particularly in atmosphere.
The game is much darker, dealing with death and tragedy in a manner not previously seen in the series, and has a sense of impending doom as a large moon slowly descends upon the land of Termina.
All copies of Majora's Mask are gold cartridges. Instead a limited Collector's Edition lenticular cartridge label was offered as the pre-order incentive.
Copies of the game that weren't Collector's Editions featured a more traditional sticker cartridge label. A remake of the game was released in as Majora's Mask 3D on the Nintendo 3DS , which added, among many other changes, improved graphics and controls, 3D effects, and a fishing minigame.
After one game has been completed, the player is given a password that allows the other game to be played as a sequel.
They were developed by Capcom in conjunction with Nintendo, with supervision from Miyamoto. After the team experimented with porting the original The Legend of Zelda to the Game Boy Color, they decided to make an original trilogy to be called the "Triforce Series".
When the password system linking the three games proved too troublesome, the concept was reduced to two titles at Miyamoto's suggestion.
These two titles became Oracle of Ages , which is more puzzle-based, and Oracle of Seasons , which is more action-oriented.

The game was a special edition of Four Swords now featuring a single player mode. When Nintendo revealed the Nintendo GameCube on August 24, , the day before Nintendo's SpaceWorld exposition, one software demonstration showed a realistically-styled real-time duel between Ganon and Link.
Fans and the media speculated that the battle might be from a Zelda game under development. The media reported that Zelda was shifting to a younger audience, to Miyamoto's surprise.
Nothing further was shown until a playable demonstration was ready, which was well-received. The gameplay focused controlling wind with a magical baton called the "Wind Waker" and sailing a small boat around a massive, island-filled ocean.
Based on the handheld Four Swords , Four Swords Adventures was another deviation from previous Zelda gameplay, focusing on multiplayer gameplay and "level-based" action like many Super Mario Bros.
The game contains 24 individual stages and a map screen; there is no connecting overworld. Although it focuses on multiplayer, the game also features a single player campaign in which using a Game Boy Advance is optional.
Four Swords Adventures is really two games in one: Hyrulean Adventure with a storyline and action somewhat similar to a traditional Zelda adventure and Shadow Battle a free-for-all melee "battle mode" which pits Links against each other as the players struggle for dominance in Hyrulean arenas.
The Japanese and Korean versions include a third segment, known as Navi Trackers originally designed as the stand-alone game Tetra's Trackers , which is not included in any other incarnation of the title.
Navi Trackers contains an important first for Zelda , as the game has spoken dialogue for most of the characters. The central concept of The Minish Cap is Link's ability to shrink in size with the aid of a mystical sentient hat named Ezlo.
While tiny, Link can see previously-explored parts of a dungeon from a new perspective, and enter new areas through otherwise impassable openings.
Link is able to switch from big to small at special portals throughout the land, once again giving Link two "worlds" to play in. This game was also developed by Capcom under Nintendo's supervision.
In November , Twilight Princess arrived as the first Zelda game on the Wii , although it was originally going to be a GameCube-only title.
During the following month, December , it was released on the Nintendo GameCube as well. The new game once again strives for a realistic look, improved even beyond the aforementioned SpaceWorld demo.
Twilight Princess is set hundreds of years after the events of Majora's Mask. This game chronicles the struggle of a more mature Link, the descendant of the Hero of Time, to rid Hyrule of the " Twilight Realm ", a mysterious force plaguing the land.
When Link enters this realm, he transforms into a wolf and the gameplay shifts radically. Twilight Princess also focuses more heavily on horseback transportation and mounted battle scenarios including boss battles than previous installments.
Zelda DS was once rumored to be a new Four Swords game, but Nintendo later retracted those statements.
Released on June 23, , Phantom Hourglass features unique new controls making use of the Nintendo DS hardware capabilities, and incorporates a 1-on-1 multiplayer battle mode , supporting play both locally and online through the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
It is set in the new-found Hyrule, years after the events of Phantom Hourglass. A new Link appears wearing a conductor's outfit and hat.
Early on in the game, Link obtains the Hero's Clothes. Also, the game features many new songs, with a few select melodies returning from Phantom Hourglass.
The game was released towards the end of December around the world, and features the train mechanic, which replaces the steamboat from Phantom Hourglass'.
