I loved this film. One person found this helpful. One of the least predictable Star Wars movies in an age, and I've seen every one in the theatre I was only 4 when I saw New Hope at the drive in.

While it certainly created division among fans, I have to say it made interesting and bold choices. As the movies have evolved, they have shown particularly in the prequels how the Jedi were neither perfect nor blameless in the events leading to the rise of Vader and beyond.

The journey and perspective here is a genuine one. For those complaining about its politics, Star Wars has ALWAYS had clear politics "This is how democracy fies, with thunderous applause" and none of this should surprise.

Also strong female characters are upsetting to some it seems, but this too is well part of the franchise, Leia has always represented this, and Rey is a joy to watch.

As someone not threatened by this, I thoroughly enjoyed the character arcs here. My only lament is I felt it would be a great chance to include Anakin, and sadly, he is not here.

Bottom line: not to be missed. Fantastic cinematography, score, and a wonderful performance from Mark Hamill. I saw this film seven times in theaters.
