However, it only contained German and Finnish tracks, and German subtitles. Changed from 1 star to 5 now that the Amazon video version has English subtitles.
Great movie just don't buy the DVD version like I did since it doesnt actually have an English soundtrack or subtitles like the description says.
Just steam it from Amazon video. Great movie for history buffs, anyone with a Finnish background and Men.
Accurate war story of the Finns fighting the Russians. Then having to give up the land they gained and lose some of their own land.
It gave the Finns a national pride of their army and land. Fought during World War 2. Shows the tenacity of the Finns.
Filming in the woods, mossy swampland and roads. Accurate guns, tanks and warefare used. Takes the life of 4 friends throughout the movie. My Finnish parents often would talk about where they were during the war.
Great to actually see it. I had an uncle who picked up the dead. He even picked up his dead brother one day.
My Mother sent him goodies and letters in a coffee can. They asked him when he came back did he bring the coffee can. He said he was fortunate to come back alive.
Never mind the coffee can. Great movie. They do speak Finnish but really low. We had to turn it up. They have English sub titles.
I had read a historical book on Finland in WW2 around I have long ago forgotten its name but it has forever colored how I perceived Finland and its people.
After seeing the Blu-Ray advertized on Amazon I snatched it right up, no regrets. The movie is beautifully photographed and the Finnish forests are just immense.
The cast performances were as good as they come. This has got to be one of the best war movies ever made, subtitles and all.
This is an epic type movie that was done very well. Rokka became my favorite character very fast. Great action sequences and special effects. The director nailed this movie in almost every aspect.
The reds were just nasty for what they were trying to do and the Finns made sure they paid for everything they got. And I think this is one of the best usage of tanks in any movie because it is realistic and very intense.
The movie "Fury" is million times worse than this. My conclusion is that it's great movie with great acting, action and drama.
Everything that is "new" in this movie compared to the classic is great. And things directly compared are good as well.
